Medical Oncologist / Hematologist

During his career as a medical oncologist / hematologist, Dr. Modiano has developed a special interest in breast, lung, and gastrointestinal malignancies, and clinical trials.

Dr. Modiano was the Director of the Gastro-Intestinal Oncology Program, as well as the minority cancer control program at the University of Arizona.

He has served as:

  • Director of Research (with a previous practice)

  • Past Chief of the Division of Hematology and Oncology and Past President of Medical Staff at Carondelet St. Mary’s Hospital

  • President of Arizona Clinical Oncology Society

Dr. Modiano currently serves as Medical Director of Arizona Clinical Research Center.

In 2006, Governor Napolitano appointed Dr. Modiano a commissioner to the Arizona Biomedical Research Commission. He has received numerous research and community service awards, including the Surgeon General Certificate of Merit.

Dr. Modiano has published many peer-reviewed articles. He has also been a presenter at multiple national and international meetings.
